One of the events the students recently participated in wasGive Kids a Smile Daywhere students volunteered locally at

and provided them with oralscreenings, fluoride
varnish, and a prophylaxis.
In
late fall, we assisted Nassau County Dental Society in hosting a special event
at Belmont racetrack where we provided free oral
cancer screenings. SADHA
also provided free oral cancer screenings at our
care center during the Great American Smoke-out.
In
November, we had our 4th annual Give a Marine a Smile Day,during which time our dental hygiene students and
faculty packed up 1000 oral hygiene kits, created from supplies donated by
Colgate. The items were shipped to active service men & women
abroad
We
also attend local soup kitchensto
donate oral hygiene kits and educate the guests regarding oral hygiene.
SADHA also holds fund-raisers throughout the school year to help support
our community events and our pinning ceremony. At these fund raisers we
sell toothbrushes & whitening strips at a phenomenal discounted price.
