3/20/2020:
NYS issued guidance on the new NY PAUSE executive order that all non-essential businesses statewide must close in-office personnel functions effective Sunday, March 22 at 8 p.m. The guidance defines essential to include “doctors and emergency dental,” among others.New ADHA video on COVID-19 advocacy.
3/18/2020:
(a) ADHA has issued interim COVID-19 policy; provided Frequently Asked Questions and a dedicated email for your COVID-19 questions and concerns: RDHCovidInfo@adha.net;
(b) ADA issued guidance on dental emergency and non-emergency care;
(c) Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released recommendations on adult elective surgeries, non-essential dental procedures.
(d) NYS emergency paid sick leave law signed.
3/16/2020:
(a) American Dental Hygienists’ Association issued a video including a statement strongly recommending that dental offices postpone non-emergency and elective procedures and continue to be available to patients for emergency needs – see more ADHA resources;
(b) NYS Dental Association and American Dental Association issued similar statements and provide resources;
(c) NYS Office of the Professions presented continuing education provisions and other procedures in light of COVID-19.
